Hmm.. So many things! I think I am a lot different than everyone else for so many reasons.
I am especially different than all my girlfriends. I honestly don't know HOW I fit in with them, but I do and always have.
I don't really have a nook where I fit in. I'm not hippie, or rockabilly, or spiritual... but I have a hand or foot in all those doors. I am a little bit of everything.
How I am different than everyone is that I guess I don't need to have a place to fit in. I don't fit in and that's fine by me!
I like to think I am one of a kind! People look first at my tattoos and THEN they see that I am who I am and not my art. I am pretty sure it's a Utah thing when people act that way. Which doesn't make too much sense since a ton of people have tats. ?? Don't judge a book by its cover... even though my art does reflect my personality a bit, it doesn't give anyone room to assume!
As for parenting:
I take my kid to adult movies (to a degree) and get stared at. I think that he needs to learn things that way. Not like sex and blood and gore or anything. But I think HE should be the one to decide what he likes and doesn't like and what he is scared of and not. Then he's not running around scared of aliens for no reason or whatev. People might think we are nuts for doing so, but he is a super intelligent kid and always has an honest and mature idea about things.
So I think my parenting is different from everyone else, too. And I have a great kid for it! He has learned right from wrong at an early age for me treating him with respect and letting him make his own decisions and getting him out in the REAL WORLD (or as close as we can get around here) at a young age.
I could go on and on about how our parenting differs from other families, but I think it's obvious. ; )
